Originally developed in 2017, “The Source” is one of two training websites for faculty training in the Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) district. When The Source was first developed, team leadership had the goal to create “as many web pages as possible”. This led to a website with over 480 pages.
During the 2023-2024 school year, I was tasked with migrating The Source website from one platform to another.
For this project, I spent approximately 3 months conducting analysis and inventory. Google analytics was cross-referenced to determine webpage popularity and use.
From there I grouped and reduced content. I took this opportunity to implement new content categorization, restructure informational hierarchy, design new layouts, and document administrative processes.
Once the analysis and ideation phase was completed, the next step was to design page layouts to use across the site. During this time, I also developed an admin guide for future page development along with an admin maintenance matrix to track changes. Once all of the content was standardized, the site went live for the last summer in 2024.
⚠️ Note: The Source is just one section of the larger MPS website, and I do not have any administrative responsibilities (or access) to other sections outside of The Source.
